ALTERNATEURL-TIME FOR A SECOND LOOK

If you are not at all familiar with AlternateUrl,I will start by showing you some of their own promos,which are actually true for the most part,just be sure to read below before signing on,though I can tell you now they are definitely worth considering as long as you show them in a responsible way,and avoid placing them in paid to read or click programs,as they definitely have a two(or more) tier pricing system.

    • On my previous review of AlternateUrl I was very adamant about the great earnings possible with them,which at the highest point reached an epc monthly average of an outstanding 61 cents,making them my best earner of all.In fact my epc for 2006 was a very respectable 45 cents.Sadly,my epc for 2007 is down to 24 cents,still a very nice number when compared to many,but why the huge difference?I think I can sum up the reason in one word:Google
    Yes,Google was the main feed supplier for AlternateUrl,which should of course be a surprise to no one considering the original purpose of alternateurl ads,to replace the Public Service Ads,or PSA ads,that Google gives when their spiders are unable to find ads to fit the content of the website.Which,incidentally is a perfect reason to seek AdSense Alternatives.
    That said let's get back to what happened to the great prices paid previously,and the reason for the downfall.
    When I first realized that AlternateUrl could be used as a primary source for ads,and not just an add on to the AdSense code,they had just over 3000 members,most of which only used them as replacement ads.Once the word was out that you could obtain the great prices of Adsense ads,even if not a member,there was a ground swell of interest and membership shot up 75% in less then nine months.

    For the first time the ads where being displayed in places that frankly Google would never have allowed,and it was not long before they noticed a lowering of advertisers conversions,the one deadly sin that can never be allowed.
    The result was that in March of 2007,Google's analytical tools were put to work finding the reason and suddenly every person using AlternateUrl as a primary ad source had their earnings per click sliced dramatically,as Google was no longer the feed supplier and the executive of AlternateUrl had to scramble to find replacements.It was not only AlternateUrl that felt the sting,anyone who had domains parked with GoldKey Domain Parking and others found the same huge drop in epc.

    So why then am I once again recommending them and encouraging old members to return?The reason is simple,now that the dust as settled,and the worst offenders weeded out,the epc is slowly rising again-only for some though as this time around you have to earn the privilege of of being granted the higher paying ads.AlternateUrl as joined the ranks of most ad sources,and have different levels of pay.We all know about maximum bids,so no one should be surprised that there are different percents of that maximum paid to publisher.

    If you are willing to live by the rules,never encourage clicks,have no pages directly on any of those TE's that seem to be just to draw clicks,have a good percentage of your traffic coming from North America and Western Europe,then you too will soon be earning above average epc.Mine is climbing steadily,and is definitely higher then AdBrite and many others.I know the same is true for others,as I have those in my downline who can only manage a 5 cent epc while others who obey the rules enjoy a 25 cent epc.Some people seem to think that just because they have not lost their accounts that there is no punishment for showing their ads on inappropriate sites,when nothing could be further from the truth.There is always a price to be paid for deception.The only way a member from a so called click exchange should ever see your ads is if they came via some other link or advertisement.

    However there are still more things that I like about them,and rather then just ramble on I will list some of the main points:

  • $50.00 minimum payout-little high but acceptable
  • Excellent Support-Fast friendly and extremely helpful
  • Prompt on time payments,15 days after pay period ends
  • Great Versatility in ad sizes and unlimited color choices
  • Rotating keyword selection-up to 5 different ones per ad
  • One code works on all your domains-no need for new approvals
  • Un-like Google,they welcome competitors ads on the same page
    •  Remember,always use at least one Premium ad source,such as BidVertiser or RevenuePilot per page,with at least two of the lesser sources such as AlternateUrl or ETOLOGY,examples shown below.Then protectthose accounts!NEVER show sites directly on those paid to read or paid to click exchanges,they will only cost us all in the end.
